Monica Loves and Misses Fall...

Even though we moved to Arizona to get away from Utah winters, Monica still loves Fall. As you can imagine fall in Arizona is a LOT different than Fall in Utah. Today the high for Mesa, AZ is 101 and sunny, the high for Salt Lake City, UT...66 and partly cloudy. Monica wishes that we could have Summer, Fall, Spring, and skip Winter all together. Here are a couple of pictures of beautiful American Fork Canyon about this time last year. Don't get us wrong we wouldn't trade our glorious winters in AZ; but it sure would be nice to have a couple weeks of crisp weather, 66 degree temps, leaves changing colors, drives through the canyon and long sleeve t-shirts. We sure miss the beauty of Fall.

13,408 Miles

That's the total number of miles the Jensen family has travelled in the past 2 weeks! Shawn went to Tucson, Hawaii, and Virginia (for work). Monica and Lincoln went to Arkansas (to visit Monica's grandparents). Crazy couple of weeks. We're glad to be all back home together!!!

Election 2008 Candidate Match Tool

So the election is almost here (finally!) We've gotten so tired of the back and forth elementary school backbiting style of campaigning. Yeah, we're ready for it all to be over. At the same time, as irritating and sometimes disappointing as it may be, we are still so grateful that we even have the opportunity to vote. This is one of the things that makes the country so great!

So here's our official shout out to everyone to make sure you go out, get informed, and exercise your right to vote! Do it! Remember that many men and women have sacrificed it all so that we have and continue to have that right and privilege.

As far as the "informed" part of that is concerned, if you want a very basic but very good idea of the presidential candidates' positions on the key issues, we found a candidate matching tool on usatoday.com. It lists the issues and asks you questions about how you feel about each one and then it tells you which candidate you are most in line with. With that said, don't think we believe a decision on a candidate can/should be decided using a tool from USA Today. Do research and get informed! We just found it interesting.

One last note: My personal opinion (and I can say this because this is OUR blog!) is that it's ridiculous to go out and just vote all one side or the other. I think that's a copout! Get informed (from EVERY angle) and vote for the candidate whose positions on the issues most closely match your own.
