Tribute: Kara

We are quite late on this one and have no good excuse but we are not missing it.

Happy Birthday to Kara on May 15th when she turned the respectable age of 21! Wow, congrats Kara!

Kara is the one who's always made everything else look a bit less impressive because she's so darn amazing at everything she does from schoolwork, to skiing, to being really funny. She was the first Jensen in recorded history to win a drawing and got a shiny new mountain bike. She's also incredibly tough! Kara had open heart surgery at the age of 11 and was training for cross country skiing 6 weeks later, a feat that totally surprised her surgeon. He told me he'd never seen someone recover so quickly!

Kara is also one of the most gentle, caring people you'll ever meet who has a deep love for people and her Heavenly Father. She's always concerned for others and has a gift for making people feel really good about themselves. She's seeking a degree in elementary education so those qualities will serve her very well. She's going to be that teacher that everyone likes and wants to be like.

Happy Belated-Birthday Kara! We love ya!

Tribute #2: Stan and Diana, and Happy 4th!

Happy Birthday on the 3rd to my dad, Stanford Alan Jensen. He's a great dad who taught me all I know about camping, hiking, and getting lost while camping and hiking. Incidentally, he also taught be a lot about patience too :) My dad is one of my greatest heroes! He's always thinking about someone else, he's a hard worker but still knows how to have some fun. He raised me on Star Wars. One of my earliest memories is going to the opening premier night of Return of the Jedi in Quebec.

Happy 84th birthday Dad! Just kidding!

Happy birthday on July 8th to my Mom-in-Law Diana! It's like she gets younger every year! When it comes to mothers in law, I think I pretty much got the best one out there! You hear all those horror stories about wicked mothers in law who secretly hate you and do weird things like reorganize your underwear. Not Diana. She's awesome! She's smart and hard working and a great example for us of tenacity and not giving up. She's also an awesome Grandma to Linc.

Happy 30th birthday Diana!

Finally, Happy Independence Day! We love being citizens of such an incredible country. It ain't perfect, but it's a great place to be! Both of us have lived in foreign countries and have learned firsthand how blessed we are to be here. God bless the USA!
