Back to the Utah

Well, we did it! We gathered enough plutonium to generate the 1.21 gigowatts of electricity needed to make travel to Utah possible! And we didn't even need a bolt of lightning! A bolt of lightning! We had a couple of airline vouchers that needed to be used up soon so Monica coaxed me into taking Linc to Utah, thereby providing some good ol' guy time for us and some good ol' "me" time for Monica.

What do you do if you're bored while waiting to get on your plane and you're 3 years old? You lay on the ground and play with your Star Wars guys. Life is awesome!

We found it suddenly necessary to point fingers and throw spiderman webs at my blackberry camera.

There's hardly a better way to kick off your vacation than to learn how to comb a dog's hair.

If you don't know Michael and Melanie and Easton, that's really too bad. If you are Michael and Melanie and Easton, congrats! You're awesome!

During a visit with Grandma Bullen, Pam Clawson and offspring dropped by. As can be seen, Linc fit in perfectly with the chaos.

Grandpa Jensen took Linc to the Thanksgiving Point dinosaur museum.
This pic says it all = Wooooowwww!

The aftermath of a particularly intense lightsabre dual with Uncle Tyler.

We got to celebrate my kid sister's 22nd bday. Lincoln, of course, is thrilled simply because there is cake.

While in American Fork Canyon, Lincoln resorted to his favorite activity: Throwing rocks in streams. See THIS POST for more rock throwing adventures.

There was a suddenly intense moment

Superhero poses. . .or Captain Morgan. . .whatever tickles your fancy!

Family Dinner

From my parents' backyard. . .not a bad view. And the scenery is not bad either!

I know, I know. . . These ladies are gorgeous so what happened to Shawn?

During yet another dual, next door neighbor Robby force pushed Uncle Tyler into the fence. Then, Lincoln finished him off with force lightning. Uncle Tyler didn't have a chance.

At the Hogle Zoo. Snow Leopard for Grandma Bullen

Jennifer opted for a giraffe. Jensen's are not exactly tall people so we take whatever chance we can get.

While we're on the subject, here's a real giraffe.

Because you're wondering, we are sitting on an enormous African inspired elephant statue and we had such enormous fun, and we also have enormous muscles!

It's funny, of all the cool animals and neat habitats at the zoo, Linc's favorite thing by far was the big black hydraulic marble at the zoo entrance.

Admittedly, I thought it was pretty cool too!

DC4Ever!

Delayed at the Salt Lake airport, Linc found it necessary to protect the vending machines from would be vending machine assassins. Linc's web slinging skills ensured that not a soul got even close to indulging in unhealthy snacks during their SLC layover.

Mother's Day

I never really think of Mother's day in terms of myself. I always think about my mom and my mother-in-law and my grandmas...so when I got flowers and cards and chocolates I was pleasantly surprised and grateful that Shawn remembers that I am a mom and makes the day special for me.

My brother John got me this awesome card and I think sums up motherhood quite accurately!

Finally, Lincoln made me this special mothers day gift at school and when his teacher gave it to me, I got little teary-eyed.

You are probably wondering where the picture of me and the little guy that made me a mom are....and the little one on the way that will make me the mom of two......

A few of Shawn's favorite things

It's been 32 years since the world got Shawn Jensen and it's never been the same since :)

To celebrate our favorite husband and daddy's 32nd, we decided to surprise him with a few of his favorite things. . .

After enjoying a bacon and egg breakfast, we drove out to Tortilla Flats, an old west outpost in the desert mountains about 50 minutes from our house. There's a stream that goes through the place that you can hike along and in some cases, literally trailblaze along.

Naturally, the boys busied themselves with important boy things, like trying to catch lizards and throwing big rocks into the water.

After exhausting ourselves and leaving considerably less rocks on the shoreline, we hiked back to the outpost and enjoyed a good ol' burger at the 100+ year old Superstition Saloon. This place is pretty unique in that when you go there, you write your name and messages on a dollar bill and they put it up on the wall inside. We were told there is over $100,000 of dollar bills on those walls, ceilings, window ledges, etc. Crazy! Lincoln felt compelled to try and rip a few off the wall.

That night, we celebrated in the classiest way we know possible: at the Red Robin.

Happy Birthday to Shawn!
