It's been a difficult pill to swallow. A few weeks ago we were discussing some new responsibilities that I'd be taking on and then BAM! out of the blue, I was laid off. I've felt a bit depressed but I do believe that when one opportunity ends, there are many others in front of you, and likely they'll be even better. It was great while it lasted.
So it's time to move forward. I've updated my Linkedin profile and I've posted a note on Facebook (which you can read here) as a way to begin the networking process. I'm actually excited to use these social media tools. I'm also contemplating starting a blog to document my entire job search process. When I get that going I'll post the link here in case you want to read it. I've already been blessed with multiple leads and words of encouragement from great friends and relatives. I feel really blessed and optimistic about the future.
There's this quote at the end of a Disney movie called Meet the Robinsons. It's a great little show. The quote is even better and means a lot to me especially right now.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things.
