Today was a pretty awesome day. We got up nice and early enough to eat some raisin bran crunch cereal and take off on a nice drive around the south eastern tip of Oahu to a small town called Waimanalo. We had decided to come all the way out here to go to church so that we wouldn't be in a meeting full of tourists. We went to the 9am church service of the Olomana ward. We were so warmly greeted and accepted! The whole bishopric and several members came up before sacrament meeting to say aloha and chat briefly with us. As we were leaving several of the members we'd met told us to come back again. Also, one sister who teaches at BYU/Hawaii told us to call her this week and she'd get us the employee cost to get into the Polynesian Cultural Center which we were thinking we may not be going to because it was so expensive. Pretty awesome.

We left the church and drove along the mountains that are pretty signature Hawaii like you see in pictures all the time. It was really beautiful. We plan to so some more driving around and get some more pics.
We came back to the hotel, took a nap, and went on a walk first along the Ala Wai Canal and then out to the beach where we just sat by the ocean for awhile. It's just so relaxing!
Then we met up and ate dinner with Emily and then walked around Waikiki and looked at some of the many art galeries, and sat on the beach once again.

Tomorrow, I'll be teaching at a school and Monica will be joining me as my "special guest" :) Then we plan on going out and doing some hiking and snorkling out at Koko Head and Hanauma Bay.
Aloha!
