Oliver's First Vacation

We made a VERY quick trip up to Utah for Labor day weekend to escape the heat. We left Friday after work and got to Shawn's parents house around 3 am on Saturday morning. The boys did pretty good in the car, we bought a little portable DVD player to keep Lincoln entertained for some of the 12 hour trip - For the record I have been against DVD players in the car, but after sitting in a 3 hour traffic jam on the way home I have changed my mind, it was totally worth it!

We spent a most of Saturday afternoon in American Fork Canyon with Shawn's family and a couple of buckets of KFC. It was perfect!

Check out Lincoln's blog to see more awesome pictures of him "flying" around the canyon!

Sunday after church we went to Salt Lake to visit my Grandma Bullen and my cute Aunt Diane come over, it was great to catch up on everything with my extended family.

Some of our favorite friends - The Bairds!

The whole family minus Uncle Tyler who is in Alaska studying air traffic control, but his sister Emily stood in for him.

Shawn's buddies Jimmy and Spencer came over on Sunday evening with their wives and kids, it was a little chaotic, but the kids (all 5 and under) put on an awesome puppet show.

Inside Mouqi Cave - I thought this would be a fun little excursion on the way home, but as you can tell from the picture Oliver wasn't a fan of the cooler temps inside the cave and Lincoln could care less about all the rocks....not the best $10 we ever spent.
