Page,AZ - Jensen Family Reunion

We met up with Shawn's family in Page, AZ over Easter weekend.

It was great to be all together as a family for the first time in a couple of years and to met our new nephew Jace. The weather was nice and cool. It started to rain just as we were heading out to take our family picture, but as Chantal likes to say "things always work out".

We had so much fun, we are thinking about making this an annual occasion.

Highlights from the trip: Friday night after a nutritious meal at Burger King we played at the local city park.

Lincoln is normally nervous around cats and dogs, but he LOVES Taffy.

Friday night, I finally got to meet my little nephew Jace. He is so sweet and mellow. Lincoln was excited to meet his cousin and was eager to show him the Cars stamp on his hand.

Saturday morning we went on the Hanging Gardens Hike. We got a little lost on the trail and hiked almost a mile past the actual Hanging Gardens, but we found it on the way back.

Lincoln, Kara, Tyler and I, hiked to the "very top" of the mountain. Lincoln was THRILLED!

Saturday afternoon after a yummy lunch at the Canyon King Pizzeria and quite a bit of Diet Coke, the boys took a nap with Grandma Jensen while the rest of us hiked
the Horseshoe Bend Trail.

Stan and I had a little bit of anxiety about how high up we were and Shawn, Kara and Tyler's desire to be as close to the edge as possible.

Tyler just watched as Shawn fell backwards off the edge, not very helpful.

Saturday evening at the city park, Grandma Jensen prepared an Easter Egg hunt for Lincoln and Oliver, mostly Lincoln. We, I mean Lincoln, scored quite a bit of Easter candy!

Lincoln likes to stop every couple of eggs and sample his conquests.

Grandma Jensen even had an Easter pinata full of candy!

Sunday we met up again at the park and Shawn gave us an Easter Message. And then we said our goodbyes. We had one more photo shoot in the park:

It was a great weekend. We appreciate the generosity of Shawn's parents and the love and attention that the aunts and uncles give to our kids.

Dang cute kids of yours. Love their suites. And what a neat backdrop on the hike, the horseshoe. Very cool.
