Nine is so fine....

Happy 9 years to us! I wanted to do something special this year other than our usual dinner and a movie date.  I made arrangements with Shawn's boss for him to have the day off....but he didn't' know it.  He thought we were doing our usual dinner and a movie date.  We got up, rushed around, had breakfast and I took the kids to school and went grocery shopping and then headed over to Shawn's office.  When I got there Shawn's boss Bonnie met me at the front desk and walked me back to Shawn's desk. As a side note, Bonnie was as excited as I was to help surprise Shawn. When I told Shawn that he had the day off, all of his coworkers popped up out of their cubicles and said Happy Anniversary to us.  They were all in on the surprise!  It was great!  I can't believe I pulled it off!!!

We went to the Desert Botanical Gardens in the morning and walked around among the desert wildflowers, cacti, and succulents, which Shawn thinks sounds like something you should be able to eat.  It was so nice to be outside together, enjoying the wonderful spring weather and being able to carry on complete conversations.  After a tour of the gardens and the Butterfly Pavilion  we had tacos at Filberto's and went to the dollar theater to see Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol.

After the gardens, lunch, and movie, we picked up the boys from school and took them out for frozen yogurt.  As you can see, the boys were thrilled to help us celebrate.  In the evening we went to dinner at Carraba's for my favorite and constant craving, bruschetta, while my Dad watched the boys.  It was a great day!
